THEE REAL HBIC STORY
SunniThaRapper may have been born in Los Angeles, California, but she got her style from the streets of Mo-City in Houston, Texas. Sunni discovered her passion for music towards the end of her high school career while she transitioned into the “real world.” She began her musical journey at the young age of 15 after she became a founding member of a girl group called Blushhh Music in 2009. The hitmaking trio received a major cosign from Matthew Knowles, who took them under his wing in 2014. Once the group went their separate ways, Sunni branched off on her own and pursued her solo career as “SunniThaRapper.” Sunni credits legends like 2Pac, Lauryn Hill, Nicki Minaj, and others who heavily influenced her decision to pursue music. When it comes to her creative process, Sunni crafts her sound with females in mind. Her hope is to inspire women to take control of their lives and achieve every goal they set for themselves all while looking and feeling beautiful. Throughout her rise to the top, Sunni has graced stages across the nation as a supporting act for various artists. The determined lyricist has also cultivated a fanbase of "HBICs," which are women who walk confidently in their own skin.
